Mountain View Parent LINK Centre is a part of a provincial network of Parent LINK Centres designed to support parents and caregivers of young children, newborn to 6 years.
The Mountain View Parent LINK network includes 5 centres located in Carstairs, Cremona, Didsbury, Olds and Sundre. We also provide parent link services to the surrounding rural communities. All of our programming is FREE.
We are funded through a partnership with Central Alberta Child and Family Services.
Mountain View Parent LINK is committed to the children of Mountain View County. We believe through parent education, a solid foundation can be built, strengthening both our families and communities.
Mountain View Parent LINK provides a welcoming, knowledgeable resource centre with safe and caring programs to the communities of Mountain View County.
Free, engaging, community minded, current, family-focused, inclusive, respect and trust.
Early Learning & Care
Parent-child relationships are enhanced when families have positive experiences working or playing together. Providing children with a range of interactive, play-based problem-solving experiences can help develop their readiness to learn and ensure they start school "equipped with success".
Parent education helps 'to build parents' skills and confidence in providing a nurturing environment for their children. Parent education addresses the needs of all types of parents, regardless of family structure, composition or socio-economic background. Formal or informal.
Family Supports services are designed to help families identify and develop their strengths, and be active, involved, concerned directors for their families lives and their children's development. Family Support services include a range of social, educational and with a focus on recreational activities.
Information & Referral
Parent LINK centres provides an information portal that connects parents with programs, tools and resources that can help them raise, strong, healthy, well-adjusted children.
The Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ-3 & ASQ-SE-2) serve as an interactive & educational set of activities/questions that support parent/caregivers in learning about their child's stages of development. Information/referral to community resources is available if necessary to increase opportunities for optimal development and school readiness.
