The Active Play program is a social based program that focuses on fine motor, gross motor and
early learning skills. There is an open space concept which allows the children to move freely
engaging in unstructured and structured play. The program runs Monday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00 in the Sundre Community Gym and children 0 to 6 are all welcome!
Tummy Time is a program that promotes Early Childhood Development. This program encourages tummy and floor time for babies which helps develop balance, coordination, hand use and strength (neck, arms and shoulders). Babies are motivated to explore their world as they find they can control their mobility. The program runs Monday afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00 at the Sundre Municipal Library and all babies and their parents are welcome!
Science Kids is all about making Science Fun and Exciting! This program is full of fascinating hands-on experiments where the children learn to test, explore, stir, erupt, melt, mix, manipulate, dissolve, compress and glue things. All of this is delivered in a safe environment where the children can enjoy the world of science. This year’s theme is Ooey Gooey Fun! Science Kids runs Tuesday afternoons from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Sundre Municipal Library and children 3 to 6 (and their parents) are all welcome!
Learning Circle and Crafts
Learning Circle and Crafts focuses on Early Literacy which is essential for the early years of a child’s life. Learning to love to read starts at an early age and this program helps foster that love through BOOKS, BOOKS and more BOOKS. Craft time is another component to this program where each week a new craft is created. Every child gets the opportunity to express their individual artistic flare in a fun supportive environment. Learning Circle and Crafts runs Tuesday afternoons from 12:30 to 3:00 and children 0-6 and their parents are welcome!
Creative play is just a fancy word for good old fashion PLAY TIME! This program focuses on Unstructured Play where there are no rules or instructions. Play is very sacred to children and they become lost in PLAY when left alone to build, explore, role play and imagine. Parents are encouraged to get down on the floor with their children and follow their lead. Creative Play runs Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 and children 0-6 are welcome!
Rhyming and Rhythm
Rhyming and Rhythm is all about singing, rhyming, dancing, games, storytelling and reading. This program is so important because it helps promote early literacy. Rhyming and songs can help children learn new words, build their vocabulary and develop sound discrimination while having fun! Rhyming and Rhythm runs Thursday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 and children 2-6 (with their parents) are welcome!
Wiggles and Giggles
Wiggles and Giggles is Rhyming and Rhythm but targeted towards babies. The program focuses on singing, rhyming, reading and tactile stimulation to help stimulate baby’s brain development. Wiggles and Giggles runs Tuesday afternoons from 12:00 to 12:30 and babies 0-2 (with their parents) are welcome!
